Nancy Worley, who served four years as Alabama’s secretary of state before later becoming the longtime chair of the state Democratic party until her 2019 ouster during a power struggle, has died at the age of 70. Reed said hospital officials informed him this morning of her passing. Worley was elected secretary of state in 2002.
