Liverpool are on the brink of completing a deal to sign RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate.
The Reds’ move for the centre-back is said to be at an ‘advanced stage’, according to the Athletic, with Liverpool ready to pay the £34million release clause in the Frenchman’s contract.
That means Liverpool would not need to initiate talks with the Bundesliga club, though they may need to fight off interest from other parties to secure the defender’s signature.
