“Pre-season is always an exciting time when everyone gets back together after the break. We’ll obviously have the new scholars with us as well and this is always a week they really enjoy.
“Building fitness in an excellent training environment, as well as playing a couple of behind closed-doors friendlies, before returning to Carrington will provide the ideal start to the new campaign.”
Following the spell in Scotland, there is a chance to honour former coach Bert Whalley, with a plaque being unveiled by Bryan Robson before the contest with Stalybridge Celtic on 17 July.
