SECOND-HALF STORM
With the Reds 7-2 up and cruising, Roma had nothing to lose and threw all they could at United, pulling two goals back in three minutes as Eden Dzeko headed from close range and Bryan Cristante struck from close range. As the onslaught continued, David De Gea made several vital saves – had the Spaniard not stood firm at that point, Solskjaer’s men could have been under immense pressure with half an hour to go.
GREENWOOD’S CENTURY
By being in the line-up to face Roma, Mason Greenwood made his 100th appearance for the club, at the age of just 19 years and 217 days. It means he is the youngest English player to reach that milestone at United and the third youngest overall after Northern Ireland heroes George Best and Norman Whiteside.
