“We have managed Marcus and we have had to do it for quite a while,” Solskjaer added. “I feel he’s gone through the worst now. He’s available for selection tomorrow, he’s happy with the progress.”
Anthony Martial and Phil Jones are still ruled out by injury, while there must be a decision in goal between Dean Henderson and David De Gea, with both keepers looking in top form of late.
“We hope we have a clean sheet and can build on that,” continued Ole. “I’m probably the luckiest manager in world football – both [keepers] have had 20+ games this season, our clean sheet record is great and both Dean and David want to lift the trophy. Whoever we go with has the support of his team-mates.”
Luke Shaw revealed in his press conference that, as expected, he will start the game against the Serie A side, after missing out on the 2017 Europa League final against Ajax due to injury.
“I was happy but it’s not the same when I did not have the kit on,” he said. “I was happy for the club and my team-mates. Luckily, tomorrow, I am playing.”
