Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is aiming to win his first piece of silverware as Reds boss and it somehow seems fitting that tonight’s final falls on the anniversary of the Treble – 26 May. That date will always be synonymous with Ole after he famously netted the injury-time winner in our Champions League final triumph against Bayern Munich to seal the unprecedented achievement.
It’s also Sir Matt Busby’s birthday. Our late, great manager was born on this day in 1909 and just as the team marked his birthday so spectacularly 22 years ago, here’s hoping Ole’s men can do the same later.
