What’s happening this week at United?

SATURDAY

The preparations for Sunday’s huge game will step up a gear as we tick nearer to the big clash. The last time we locked horns with Jurgen Klopp’s men a late Fernandes free-kick ensured it was United who came out on the right side of a 3-2 scoreline in our Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie, while the sides drew 0-0 in the last league fixture at Anfield.

At 12:00 BST, United’s Under-18s are away to Leeds with the action due to be shown live on MUTV.

SUNDAY

It’s a double header as both the men’s and women’s sides are in league action.

Casey Stoney’s side will be travelling south to take on Bristol City at 14:00 BST in the WSL. We’re still very much in the fight for a Champions League spot, meaning three points at the weekend is crucial for our hopes of a maiden European campaign in 2021/22.

Then, at 16:30 BST, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reds face Liverpool in the latest episode of a Premier League classic, with the game to be broadcast live on Sky Sports. Both sides will be hoping to secure a Champions League spot for next season, with United currently in second, while Liverpool are sixth in the standings – although this could change by the time the two do battle.

To wrap up the week, our legendary former no.7 and England captain, David Beckham, turns 46 on Sunday. We wish him many happy returns and hope he’s celebrating with three points for the Reds on Sunday.
