There is also, of course, the Premier League form to be factored in with United already securing a top-four finish, and therefore a place in next season’s Champions League, with four games to spare. Sunday’s superb 3-1 victory over Aston Villa was our 20th win in the competition this season and there have only been four defeats, three of which were inflicted in the first six fixtures.
